Joe Arpaio the sheriff of Maricopa County, AZ has for years been accused of racial profiling and unlawful search and seizures while enforcing the Boss Immigration Laws. So now the sheriff finally has the spotlight to show all the accusation are false by providing the Justice Department with the requested records and documents it has asked for in it’s lawsuit against Sheriff Joe Arpaio, The Sheriff’s Office, and Maricopa County. Which also appears to be in direct violation of his statutory, regulatory and contractual obligations to the government for receiving some $15 million dollars in financial assistance last year alone.

The government of Riverside County California has decided to do something in that area wouldn’t have expected, Riverside has started charging $1 to access public records online and you still get charged the dollar even if the name or record is not available.

What merchant would charge you to search its Web site to see if it has a particular product in inventory? None.

Right now it costs the public $0.25 to $0.75 per page to obtain printed copies of public records in New Jersey. Their has been a recent law proposal that if passed that would decrease the cost of public records copies mainly printed documents by about $0.15 . Others that oppose the bill are worried that the reduced costs of printed copies will trickle down to faxed and emailed copies as well.
